This power adapter has an output voltage selection
switch on the side. Please select the voltage closest to the computer's original AC
power adapter output voltage.
If the original power adapter's output voltage
is 14.5V (such as 45W power adapter), set the voltage output at 15V.
If the original power adapter's output voltage is 16.5V (such as 65W power adapter), set
the voltage output at 16V.
If the original power adapter's output voltage is
18.5V (such as 85W power adapter), set the voltage output at 18.5V.

There are two ways to power your laptop netbook computers from vehicles with standard cigarette lighters: one way is to use the car DC power adapter like this, and the other way is to use a DC to AC inverter. To use the other method, change the 12V ( or 24V) vehicle battery DC power to 100V~240V AC power, then use the computer AC power adapter.
We recommend you to use car DC power adapter directly if possible based on two facts:1. Most DC to AC inverters only have about 80% efficiency rate, which means around 20% extra power from the car battery will be wasted on the power inverter.2. Most low cost DC to AC inverter's output wave form are not true pure sine form. However, laptop AC power adapters are designed with true pure sine AC power form. So the inverter may be harmful to your AC power adapter.
